Bar Review #8 - Saphir 24 at Fairmont Monaco

Hi everyone,

Today I wanted to start a small series of the bars and restaurants I went to during my short stay in Monaco. There are certainly many luxury places to eat and drink, I tried to pick the ones which were most interesting to me. Firstly, I wanted to write about Saphir 24, a bar located in the Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo. The hotel itself at the centre of Monte Carlo and the bar overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. The views are indeed stunning and something that you must do, even if it is to just have one drink. The service is very professional which is to be expected from an establishment such as the Fairmont. Overall, there is an air of luxury that is unmistakable. I believe you should embrace that feeling in order to take in the atmosphere of this unique place.

The cocktails are somewhat expensive, but that is to be expected in Monaco. The choices are standard but they do use high quality alcohols and ingredients to justify their price-tags. A similar experience can be found at the Horizon bar. Similar to Saphir 24, it over looks the Mediterranean sea and offers very upscale cocktails that you can drink while counting your winnings from the casino. The blue of the Mediterranean can really lift your mood and having these cocktails will help this cause. If you are in the area, I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit to these bars. Even for those that do not drink alcohol, the views justify ordering a virgin cocktail. Although one thing to note, the tables by the sea are small. This is more suitable for a small party of people.

Drinks: Excellent Views
Service: Upscale
Price: Justifiable

Rating: 4/5

Fun Fact: The word Mediterranean comes from latin words "Medius" and "Terra". They mean middle and earth respectably. This is due to the Romans thinking they were in the middle of the world.
