Bar Review #10 - The Promenade at the Dorchester

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I wanted to let you guys know that this is my 50th post on this blog and thank you for all those that have read my small reviews. In this edition, I wanted to write about the Promenade bar at the Dorchester hotel in London. This exclusive 5 star hotel is luxurious and has an amazing Alain Ducasse restaurant. However, for those wanting to spend a little less then you can have a few drinks at the Promenade. Similar to other luxury hotels in London, this bar is decorated in a modern manner that retains some classical features due to the nature of the building. The bar itself is very impressive and contains a variety of high-end alcohols. You do not need a reservation but you will need to be dressed in a smart fashion. The cocktails on offer are fancy but you do need to pick carefully as they are pricey. However, the atmosphere in the bar is surprisingly relaxed, just not relaxed enough for a wild party so to speak. The servers are attentive as they make sure you are always topped up on nuts and olives. Yet there is no pressure to keep ordering drinks meaning you can have one drink to last the whole night. Overall, the experience of going to the Dorchester is great for a special occasion but if you wanted to go for on a lesser occasion then this bar provides the benefits of the location without the hefty price tags. Nevertheless, for those that drink to get drunk, then this is definitely not the place to go.

Drinks: Classy Cocktails
Service: Attentive
Price: Very high
Rating: 4/5

Fun Fact: The Dorchester Hotel is owned by the Sultan of Brunei.
